Meet Geneviève Kyle-Lefebvre

Community leadership grounded in service
For the past 10 years, I have proudly called Coquitlam home. I am a mother, community leader, nonprofit executive and longtime volunteer who believes strong communities are built by people who step forward, work together and give back.
I believe leadership is about listening, building relationships and turning ideas into action. Throughout my career, I have focused on bringing people together, finding practical solutions and creating opportunities that strengthen our community.
My commitment to Coquitlam has been shaped through years of volunteer leadership. I have served on the Board of Directors of a local francophone community organization, as Past President of Tri-Cities Community Television, and on the Executive Board of the Burke Mountain Residents Association. These experiences have allowed me to work with residents, volunteers, businesses, community organizations and representatives from all levels of government.
A record of building connections
I have created and led initiatives designed to help people connect and support one another:
- Tri-Cities United, a community support initiative launched during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Faces, a collaborative women’s book project celebrating women and their stories for International Women’s Day.
- Mom Talk, an initiative supporting mothers and parents through local meetups, conversations and a podcast focused on connection and mental-health awareness.
In 2025, I was honoured to receive the Community Champion Award in recognition of my volunteer service and dedication to our community.
Professional experience
My professional experience includes work in the financial and health-care sectors, as well as leadership in the nonprofit sector. These roles strengthened my understanding of financial responsibility, compassionate service, confidentiality, accountability and the importance of careful decisions that directly affect people’s lives.
I have managed budgets, secured grant funding, overseen teams, coordinated major community events and built partnerships that bring people together. These experiences taught me to collaborate, manage public and community resources responsibly, and follow through on commitments.
Respect for first responders
Through my work in health care and my involvement in the community, I have developed a deep respect for firefighters, police officers, paramedics, emergency personnel and other frontline professionals. They serve under demanding circumstances and deserve strong communication, appropriate resources and a City Council that recognizes their essential role in keeping residents safe.
What I will bring to City Council
I will bring a community-first perspective, practical management experience and a commitment to listening before making decisions. I believe residents deserve elected officials who are approachable, transparent and prepared to work respectfully with people who hold different views.
