My Community Journey

Years of service, leadership and community building.

For many years, I have dedicated my time to building stronger, more connected communities through volunteerism, non-profit leadership and community initiatives.

I currently serve as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization, where I work to strengthen our francophone community through cultural, educational and community programming.

Previously, I had the privilege of serving as President of Tri-Cities Community Television, helping amplify local voices and community stories. I also serve on the Board of the Burke Mountain Residents’ Association, advocating for residents and helping address local issues.

  • Tri-Cities United: a community support initiative launched during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Faces: a collaborative women’s book project celebrating women’s stories in recognition of International Women’s Day.
  • Mom Talk: a community initiative supporting mothers and parents through connection, local meetups and a podcast focused on mental health and community support.

In 2025, I was honoured to receive the Community Champion Award, recognizing my long-standing commitment to serving our community.

Strong communities are built by listening, working together and finding practical solutions, even when perspectives differ.

Priorities for Coquitlam

Responsible decisions for a growing city.

Coquitlam needs thoughtful planning, accountable leadership and practical action on the issues residents experience every day.

Housing and Affordability

Support more rental, family, seniors and missing-middle housing while ensuring growth is matched by roads, schools, parks, utilities and community services.

Transportation and Traffic

Address congestion, improve road safety, strengthen transit connections and advocate for better access to Burke Mountain and major regional routes.

Public Safety

Support community policing, safer parks and streets, emergency preparedness, fire protection and practical traffic-safety measures.

Parks, Recreation and Quality of Life

Expand access to sports fields, ice, pools, trails, community centres, dog parks and affordable recreation for all ages.

Climate and Environment

Protect forests, waterways, wildlife habitat and trees while investing in climate resilience, flood mitigation and green infrastructure.

Infrastructure

Ensure roads, sidewalks, drainage, water, sewer and digital services keep pace with growth and are maintained responsibly.

Community Wellbeing

Strengthen support for seniors, youth, families, accessibility, mental-health awareness, volunteerism and local non-profit partnerships.

Local Economy

Support small businesses, reduce unnecessary red tape, encourage local jobs and revitalize commercial areas.

Good Governance

Promote fiscal responsibility, transparency, meaningful consultation, responsible tax decisions and efficient service delivery.

Food Recovery and Food Security

Helping people, reducing waste and building resilience.

I am a strong advocate for food recovery, food security and access to healthy food. Too much usable food is discarded while families, seniors and individuals face rising grocery costs.

Coquitlam can lead by supporting partnerships between businesses, charities, community organizations and volunteers.

  • Expand food recovery programs that redirect surplus food to people instead of landfills.
  • Strengthen partnerships that improve access to healthy and affordable food.
  • Support community kitchens, food literacy and affordable meal programs.
  • Make it easier for organizations and businesses to participate in food recovery.
  • Reduce food waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Promote innovative solutions for a more resilient local food system.

Food recovery is more than waste reduction. It is about affordability, dignity, environmental responsibility and stronger community partnerships.
