Practical, responsible priorities for a safe, affordable and connected Coquitlam.
Coquitlam’s growth creates opportunity, but it also puts pressure on housing, transportation, infrastructure, public safety, recreation and affordability. My approach is to plan carefully, listen to residents and focus on practical results.
Responsible Growth, Housing and Transportation
- Support a range of housing options for families, renters, seniors, young people and longtime residents.
- Ensure roads, utilities, parks and community services are planned alongside new development.
- Address congestion, Burke Mountain access, safer intersections, transit connections and practical walking and cycling routes.
Public Safety and Strong Neighbourhoods
- Support appropriate resources and communication for firefighters, police, paramedics and emergency personnel.
- Improve emergency preparedness for wildfire, flooding, severe weather and other local risks.
- Advance traffic safety, safer parks and public spaces, and effective community-based prevention.
Families, Seniors and Quality of Life
- Protect access to recreation, parks, trails, sports facilities and community centres as Coquitlam grows.
- Support programs that reduce isolation and improve accessibility for seniors, youth, families and people with disabilities.
- Work with community organizations that deliver cultural, recreational and social programs.

Community Partnerships, Food Security and Sustainability
- Build meaningful partnerships among the City, nonprofits, volunteers, businesses and residents.
- Support food recovery, food security, community kitchens and practical waste-reduction initiatives.
- Protect trees, waterways, habitat and climate-resilient infrastructure through responsible planning.
Local Economy and Small Business
- Improve City processes and reduce unnecessary administrative delays for responsible local businesses.
- Support vibrant commercial areas, local employment and opportunities for entrepreneurs and home-based businesses.
- Consider business access and disruption when planning construction and infrastructure projects.
Fiscal Responsibility and Accountable Government
- Review spending carefully and explain the effects of budgets and tax increases clearly.
- Improve public reporting on major project costs, timelines, financial impacts and results.
- Make engagement accessible and ensure residents can understand how and why decisions are made.
